In the eleventh month of Motherhood my Bennett gave to me
Eleven months my favorite
well, up to this point :) It's funny, bc I have been saying that with every passing month... "no THIS month is my favorite! No, THIS one!" And now that we have moved on (in real-time) to his 12th month, I want to say THIS is my favorite!! But now back to his eleventh month, when I wrote this little jingle and these were my sentiments at the time :)
Really, though, this child is a blast. Talking up a storm (mamas, dadas, b, n, t, di, all kinds of noises), crawling like a pro, pretty much walking everywhere (but just not yet completely without support from a Mama or Daddy finger to touch). He is loving, and cuddly again (finally! havent really been able to cuddle with him for extended periods of time since he was only a few months old!! busy little bee).
He is also communicating with us now. He made his first sign ("sleep") and does it whenever he wants a nap, or when I ask him if he is sleepy. If he IS sleepy, he signs; if he isn't he wont! I have seen many other babies sign, but it is still amazing to see your own child do it for the first time, especially since he only loved the DVD thing for about a month and a half. He will NOT sit in front of the tv, so the only signs he gets are the ones we make to him all the time (sleep, eat, more, all done, play, help, ball).
We have tried to watch cartoons, or the Baby Einstein CD, but he wants nothing of it! He would rather play with his toys, or play with Mama or Daddy! Which, he wanted a LOT this month. He becae very clingy as his independence increased. Half the time he wants to be on his own, the other half he is pulling at our legs for us to pick him up. And he will do both within seconds of each other. Cant make up his mind! :)
He finally started waving toward the very end of his eleventh month, and now does it regularly. Whenever we go down for a nap, if Daddy is home, he will wave to him as we walk by. Or whenever we say "byebye" or "wave." Its the typical opening and closing of the hand. Sometimes close to his body, and sometimes he streeeettttches his arm up like his is "SO big" and waves. Those are the best!
He is incredibly smiley and is a very good natured boy. He has thrown a few tantrums when we take something away or wont pick him up or just say NO, but they usually only last a couple seconds and then he is on to something else.
We love you B!!!!!!

Where did you get, or what brand is the push walker pictured in this post (picture #4). I am in the market for either a push walker or a real walker for Eli and can't decide. Never seen that one.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
