anyway, its that time of year again and as i assume you could gather from the previous post, my kitchen has quickly turned into a disaster zone. yummm

just like last year, we gifted pumpkin bread to bennett's MDO teachers {he has different teachers than last year, so i felt it perfectly fine in doing so :) }. last year i just stuck them in the little blue ribbon pans i baked them in, but in hindsight that was pretty boring and uuuugly.

so, this year i made quick and easy bags from some clearance christmas fabric {note to self: almost all christmas fabric right now is on clearance} and tied them with some clearance ribbon. i love clearance!


i made gift labels that match {in theory} our christmas cards and return address labels this year. i just knew they made large circle white sticker sheets for the computer BUT THEY DONT. or at least i couldnt find them. i had to buy the big plain sticker sheets and cut them out myself. which didnt end up being that big of a deal but MAN the other way would have been so much easier. i printed some of the labels out on white card stock for the pumpkin bread gifts.


i was happy with the way they turned out this year!

in more food related news, i have to give two enthusiastic thumbs up to these two recipes:
1. oreo balls...i dont know what else to call them.
a good friend of mine, maribeth, made them for a christmas party last night and they were supreme. being the faithful blogger that i am, the second i saw them i thought: one of my friends from college had a recipe that looks exactly like that on her blog! while maribeth might not have found the recipe from this particular blog, i have to give my friend vanessa from This and That two big thumbs up bc now YOU can find the recipe on her blog....sooooooo yum. i mean YUM.  ok and i just checked vanessa's blog and they are called "oreo truffles".  and maribeth would like all to know that she used "candiquik" for the chocolate :)

2.  apple butter
ok big thumbs up.  a good friend, louise, made this and deserves another big YUMMO.  are you tired of that word yet? {there will be a quiz at the end to see how many times i used varying forms of the word "yummy" in this post} {no, not really}.  again, i dont know if she found it from this blog or not, but it is immediately what i thought of when i saw it!  so, if you are interested in making your own apple butter, go HERE to darby's blog and 'giturself some.

both of these things require very few ingredients and make great gifts!!


AAANNNDD since we are on the ever-so-wonderful topic of food, here is another fun {i didnt say yum! but guess what:  it is still YUM} easy recipe for all you procrastinators out there who still need to give teacher gifts, {i feel ya} or all you salty-sweet lovin fools {like me}.


again, dont know the formal name of these but i will title them

BONNIE BITES

...after the sweet girl who told us about the recipe last night {and look what i did...first thing this morning while running errands i picked up the stuff to make it....good move on my part i say}

all you need:



{i think bonnie meant regular pretzels but i like these}


spread pretzels on cookie sheet,


top with mini reeses cups,




bake at 350 until chocolate is just soft {i did it for about 4-5 minutes}


top with another preztel and 


voila!!!
