"ive got my lunch packed up..."

"...my shoes tied tight
i hope i dont get in a fight
...oooh back to school..."

our first day back to "school" {i dont really think of it as his official "first day of school," we are still in mothers day out mode...official "first day" to me = preschool, like 3 yr old ... in case you were wondering/caring what i thought about that - HA!} went wonderfully uneventful.

as usual i dropped bennett off and he ran straight to the toys and never looked back...except to reply "byebye mama" when i wished him adieu. upon picking him up, his teachers said it was a rough day for the babies. except for bennett who actually looked at the crying babies like "whats up with that?" and continued playing. at least thats what they said :)

our afternoon was filled, and i mean to-the-brim, with jabbering. he tries to make everything a sentence and gets stuck on words. no single nouns anymore. everything is either a "mama____" or a "baby____" or it belongs to mama or daddy or baby or la or doc etc. his favorite new word is "shoes" or "shooooooooo." its our new favorite, tied with "yogurt" {yoyuuuuuu}, because of the kissy "ooooo" face he makes when saying both.

he loves the colors green and blue and can point them out/say them. he also says "purple" and "yellow" as plain as day and can get those about half the time. he has trouble with the color red, which makes me feel one of two things: a)that he just doesnt know it yet; or b) he is red-green color blind {enter crazy mama syndrome...}.

out of the mouth of my babe:
  • leaving the grocery store, points up the the afternoon sky and says "mama! baby airplane! baby airplane!!". there is nothing in the sky but i smiled bc im sure he saw a large bird, or, in fact, a tiny airplane :)
  • sitting in the bathtub: "hahahahaha byebye tee tee! byebye tee tee! hahahaha" {you can imagine what was happening}
  • sitting in the bathtub: "hahahaha bubbles! hahahaha bubbles!" {you can also imagine what was happening......thanks DADDY for teaching him that it is FUNNY}
  • "eeeee-HAW eee-HAW" {when he sees a donkey} {in a book...}

he is also very affectionate and hugs and kisses us all day long. i welcome it. stephen does too but says hes gonna have to toughen up sooner or later. we both know he has plenty of time for that :)
