we're baaaack

what a trip!  all* i can say is:

:: we are incredibly relaxed

:: we did not go to cozumel bc of the swine flu {so for the record our last three trips have been affected by tornadoes, hurricanes, and now a near pandemic outbreak...i can only imagine what will be next...} but we DID go to key west and belize

:: we ate more than either of us should ever admit to

:: we slept more than we both have in the past two years

:: we got more sun than we should have

:: we tried our novice hands at the casino, and stretched $20 farther than i think that amount has ever been stretched on the slot machines (and ended up only parting with around $10).  late one night, we even got the guts to play blackjack...made one $10 bet (bc that was the smallest amount you could bet on one hand), lasted about an hour, and walked away with $72 (well, $70 after tipping the dealer $2 bc thats what we heard was the thing you do).  this may all seem like nothing, but it was enough to keep us giddy for a good 24 hours.  heck, im still giddy.  {stephen took this without me knowing....hence the candid-ness of it.  those three guys taught me everything there is to know about playing blackjack.  now if i could only remember what they said...}

:: we learned just how crazyfunnyridiculousinsanestrangebuthighlyentertaining the cruise staff/events can be

:: we both read TWO books - thats right, for the first time since weve been married, my husband finished a book.  now dont get me wrong, he reads a LOT, just never finishes anything.  go stephen

:: we ate more than either of us should ever admit to {wait?  i already said that?     YEP}

:: we played bingo twice - the first time stephen got one away from winning a free cruise for two (!!) and the second time, i won $150!  this was the LAST time we pressed our luck on this cruise - tried to stop while we were ahead :)

:: we missed our baby.  going on vacation is a little different when you have someone like bennett back at home.  i missed him more than i thought i would before we even left, missed him less than i thought i would while we were gone, and more than i could handle when we went to go pick him up. 

:: we realized these things...time {just us} together that is...are so important.  stephen and i need our time, in order for the three of us to have better us time.  and hey, gotta keep that newlywed spunk alive, eh?

so, lets fill you in on what our better third did while we were away:

:: played at the park TWO times

 

:: ate {duh}

:: played around in my skivvies

:: and just basically had the time of my life, you know

thanks to la, pop, doc, and mimi for making my week away from the mama and dada quite the mini vacation in itself!

{and BIG thanks to our moms and dads for watching our bman so we could sneak away.  oh, and of course, to ben and erin and harper for watching over our fur child as well :) }
