dear sweet af-s nikkor 18-55mm, R.I.P.

oh dear dear SWEET dear lens of mine:
you will be greatly missed.
you have seen us roes through over a year of life.
from the last few days of pregnancy to the birth and first year of our precious son.

you stood there with me in my trials and tribulations and joys and jubilations
as i embarked on the journey of photography.
you took good pictures, but also a decent share of bad.
and you remained true until that fateful friday:

when, in a fast slow motion {yes there is something such as that},
you fell head first to the kitchen tile.
i caught you, but not without a quick and deadly slam to your face.
{see tilt pictured above}

so now you sit, broken, useless, and honestly quite mocking.

and you cost more to ship back to nikon to fix then it would cost for me
to just purchase a used or {maybe even} new one on ebay.

and since my old digital camera was run over by a sibling's car around 6 months ago,
and since our video camera decided months ago that its short 4.5 year life span was
IT
i am left with my memory of my child growing up before my eyes.

and it seems even THAT isnt really up to its game these days.

oh woe is me

rest in peace

but rest knowing that i will be QUICK to find a replacement.
dont you doubt it
