Santa actually stopped on over for a quick visit before visiting the other far parts of the world that were still nighttime.

Bennett looked at and played with all his toys...still lovin on some bows. Santa doesn't wrap presents, though (duh), so he just had a couple to unwrap from the Roes that we didn't get to before he went to sleep last night.
We arrived at my parents house and dove head-first into some unwrapping, as my sister and her husband had to hurry on over to HIS family's house for their share of Christmas Day festivities. (gah this stuff gets hectic, no?)
More fun toys and gifts were given and received, but there is no joy that matches that of watching your child experience Christmas. Even though he had no idea what was going on. Even though he was sleepy and off schedule and ate two lunches and took weird naps.

I still love my firetruck. But the bug band is cool too.

Not to play favorites, bc that would be unfair during this special season, but I do have to say the best present EVER was the box I opened that contained all of the negatives to Stephen's and my wedding!!!! See, I got married back in the day when digital photography had not yet caught on with the "IT" photogs in my hometown. When I asked to have digital photography at my wedding, the inquiry was met with gasps and horrified looks and lots of explanations as to why this was a preposterous idea. Well, OK not really, but you understand. ANYWAY, I had to choose a book from tons of pics, and the ones I chose are the only pics I have seen over the past four years. This was certainly a treat and I cried like a baby. Thanks mom and dad!!!
Around one, the Roe family came over for yet another scrumptious feast, enjoyed by all. Bennett had his second lunch, and another afternoon nap soon followed.
Where's Bennett?
THERE he is!
{so by now you have caught on that this is THE popular game played in our house these days}
After a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, food, presents, and just plain JOY, families dispersed and headed to their homes. We had a fantastically insane Christmas, with such splendid generosity exhibited by ALL parties involved. I am a little sad it is over - you know that little {or BIG} void left when you wake up on the 26th and realize you're going to have to take your Christmas decorations down soon?? Well, at least that is the part I get sad about. The thought of the impending New Year makes me happy.
But, no time to think about such things, as now it is on to Rachel's Nutcracker Ball, Birthdays and Birthday parties!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Natalie, you are one of the funniest bloggers I read. Even just your wording in the posts make me laugh! :)
