The Watermelon Patch, Great Grandmothers and an Exceptionally Well Behaved 6 month old

Bennett and I met Erin and Jack Schwant at the Watermelon Patch today for a fun "class." Bennett was such a happy little boy. To start this off, the class was at 11, would last 45 minutes, and he was due to eat somewhere around 11:30. He was only able to have about a 20 minute cat nap in the car before the class, since the travel time and actual class fell in the middle of his usual naptime. I was expecting grumpiness and whines. To my lovely surprise, I got happy and squeals of laughter. We played with bouncy balls, sang songs and clapped our hands (Bennett LOVED this), blew bubbles (he sat in glazed out awe at all the bubbles, I had to wave my hand in front of his face to bring him back), played with a parachute(several babies were scared of the parachute going up and down over their heads, but B just squealed and smiled and loved it), had story time, and had free time to play with all the fun toys.

We had a blast, but I realized everything that the Watermelon Patch had to offer would be better utilized when B is a little older...so I think we will be giving it another chance when B is around 9 months, or at least when he can crawl.
After The Watermelon Patch, we went home and Bennett ate around 12:20 (still cant believe he went that long without his normal routine feeding!!!). Stephen came home around 1:30, and we went to visit his Paternal Grandmother, Mamaw Roe, who is in a nursing home here in Mobile. She had not seen Bennett since he was a few weeks old, and was amazed at how much he had grown. Again, after not having a nap in the morning, and only having a 20 minute or so cat nap on the way to see Mamaw Roe, I was so shocked that he was so well behaved. B showed Mamaw Roe all his tricks: he laughed, squealed, kicked, grabbed her hand, tried to push the buttons on the bed control, sat up next to her, tried to grab her face, spit up, and lied next to her for some pictures. We had such a good visit!

So, for a baby who was thrown way off schedule, with no naps to speak of, Bennett was crazily happy and cuddly and playful the rest of the afternoon. Pop came to keep him last night while Stephen and I went to dinner for Stephen's work, and B had a great time hanging out with Pop!! (While Stephen and I were finishing getting ready to leave, all we could hear was Bennett squealing at Pop while they played Peek-a-boo! so cute!)
Here is just a cute pic of my boys after bath time yesterday
