Update: Bennett is doing better. Talked to his doctor on Friday, was instructed to nix the formula and feed him pedialyte and foods such as rice cereal, bananas, applesauce, etc. Bennett says "eww."
I gave him a mixture of the grape and unflavored Pedialyte Friday night, and ended up wearing it soon after. The bathroom sink had a nice coating of it as well. I was crying as Bennett was staring up at me, scared to death, not sure of just what was exactly going on. I cleaned him up and he went right to sleep. I checked on him before I went to bed at 10:30, and he was awake and hungry. I fed him 4 oz of pedialyte and he went right back to sleep. He woke up at 5:45am, I fed him 4 more oz of pedialyte, and he slept until 8:30. Only a low grade fever of 101 during part of the day yesterday, but would only eat his bananas and a few bites of rice cereal. Wanted nothing to do with the pedialyte or even diluted gatorade. Called doctor again and was told to try feeding him diluted formula (4oz formula with 4 oz pedialyte). Around 4, he at it all hungrily, PLUS another 3 oz.
The crazy thing is, he may be sick, but he is being the sweetest little sick boy...no fussing, good sleeping, and smiling and playing up a storm. Just at a little slower level I guess. Yes having a sick baby is VERY hard, especially when he has never had even a runny nose in his 6 months, and he looks up at you with this "what is going on mommy/daddy" kind of look. Other than loss of appetite, our one bout with throwing up, and very interesting diaper changings, he is doing great - just a little sluggish at times.
Thank you so much for your sweet thoughts and comments! We will keep you posted
