A few days late, but poignant nonetheless

Litany of Thanksgiving

As we celebrate this Thanksgiving Season let us turn to the Lord of all time and seasons in a spirit of gratitude.

For the gift of wonder and the joy of discovery,
We thank you Lord.

For the everlasting freshness of experience, for the newness of life and opportunity each day offers,
We thanks you Lord.

For the companionship on the journey of life,
We thank you Lord.

For the little traditions and customs of the home, for meals eaten together in fellowship and for the sanctity of family life,
We thank you Lord.

For children and the joy of innocence,
We thank you Lord.

For the joy of work attempted and achieved,
We thank you Lord.

For the fruits of the harvest, and the hope and courage of those whose harvest is fruitless,
We thank you Lord.

For the courage and strength we receive from those who through suffering share in the passion of Jesus Christ,
We thank you Lord.

For those who seek truth and justice, for all who respect life and liberty,
We thank you Lord.

Above all we thank you, our Lord and God, for the gift of faith that enables eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to know the wonders of your presence; for the gift of hope in your unfailing purpose, in your Son's victory and risen presence, for the gift of your love that holds us secure in the palm of your hand,
To you be praise and glory, honor and power now and forever.

Amen
