33 week appointment, and a possible birthday??

Everything is good! Gained some weight, belly is bigger, heart rate is good, and Bennett still likes to get a few good kicks in at the doppler before Dr Rogers is done. We discussed several things this appointment, including inducing and dates and size and ultrasounds.

My next appointment is in two weeks, Thursday Dec 13th, for my 35 week check up. After that I will go once a week. At week 36 they will start checking to see if I am dilated and/or effaced. On week 37 we have the next Ultrasound to check on his kidneys (and gauge his size!). Then 38 week appointment, and then we will go into the hospital on the night of January 7th to be induced on the 8th!

I asked Dr. Rogers about inducing, her thoughts, any negative side effects, the drugs, pros/cons. She really thinks it will be the best thing for me and for Bennett, since he is so big and my family history suggests it would be the best option. However, she did say that if for some reason, at my 38 week appointment or even when I arrive at the hospital on the 7th, I am not effaced or dilated to the point she would wish me to be, then we will wait till my due date. She does not want to attempt to induce when my body clearly isnt ready, as it will just make the whole process more labor intensive and more drawn out than if I just went into labor naturally.

I also asked if Dr Rogers thought there was a good chance Bennett would come even earlier than the 8th, and she said she really doesn't think he will. She said all signs indicate a big baby, and he obviously seems very happy and is thriving in the womb. She thinks he will hold on until we either induce or get closer to his due date.
