AN OLD BEFORE AND AFTER

And when I say old, I mean from about two years ago. {See I am SO good at documenting my work.... :/}
Usually I offer "full service" work...where I am with the client from schematics to design development to construction documents to finish selection to construction to project management to installation and finishing touches.  These projects are big commitments, take a long time, and I really get to understand the client's aesthetics and taste and they get to understand mine.  The clients are more likely to take the risks I encourage and step a little out of their comfort zone, resulting in a finished product that reflects their personal tastes and way of living but also hopefully inspires and pleases them for a long time to come.  I have been so blessed with the wonderful relationships I've developed over time with several of these "long term" clients.

However, there are also those clients who only need some design "inspiration" or suggestions for their space.  They are usually more budget-minded and only need my help in the "point me in the right direction" kind of way. While I might not always develop the relationship aspect I so love about my job, and I might not get as much of a "say" on final detail selections, these projects really balance out the intense ones and are quick, fun, and satisfying {because the before and after are so immediate!} projects.  When I work on these types of jobs I rarely see the finished product {except through phone pics or over email!}.  The following project was one like that.

I met with the clients, saw the existing space, discussed their vision for the space, their taste, and their budget.  These clients had a kitchen and a bathroom they wanted to update...flooring, countertops, appliances, paint, plumbing, and then adding built ins where needed.  I also helped with paint selections throughout the rest of their house.  I provided them with detailed plans and elevations of the built ins and schemes for finish selections.  We adjusted where necessary and this is how it turned out:

After meeting, we adjusted a few things:

And here is how it turned out:
