i think my boy looks good in "camp gear"...so i guess im lucky we go so much and i get to see him in it, right? seriously though i do love the simplicity of the camp, and the fact that its generally not used for much serious hunting, just a few casual outings made by stephen when he feels like it
i also love that i dont feel any pressure to get out of the comfy recliner and stop watching some movie ive seen a million times on satellite, like i definitely would if i was at home :)
a perfect little birds nest
the before shot: if you look you can see bennett bending down to scratch his leg. 1/100th of a second after this picture was shot all hades broke loose as bennett had been standing in an ant mound the size of a sandcastle. we stripped him down to his pajama shirt {that he had insisted on wearing with his overalls} and he came away with only about 5 or so bites {whew!}.
moments after the ant-induced craze, back to his normal self playing with "mama haaaaaat"
moments after this photo, however, bennett started scratching his arm and saying "ant-tszzzs" {that last part is more like a spitting sound made when you blow bubbles through your teeth. the way he makes his sounds sometimes befuddles me} we checked and no ants. however after persistant insisting by our two year old, daddy checked again and there was a GRASSHOPPER in his shirt {seriously? yes seriously}. bennett is still telling people {and strangers in bruno's} about the "gassy-hawpuh"* that "bit" him on the arm.
good thing the weather was mild bc there may or may not have been a naked toddler on the bad boy buggy from this point on.
*my new favorite word
{first picture has nothing to do with the camp but i love it. daddy was power washing and bennett was helping...obviously}
Thanks so much for my morning "fix" of the boy! That's my favorite word, too...closely followed by him saying his name! :-) Love ya'll, La
ReplyDeleteoh i love the gassy-harpuh story.... funny boy! sounds like the last bit of that word is the same way he says "harper"
