more halloween happenings

we really made use of our costume this year. somewhere between birthday parties, costume-day at our wednesday morning library reading hour, spooky pumpkin fashion shows for family, and neighborhood parties at the park, the two-time halloween pumpkin costume took the hit.

we have dislodged iron-on black triangles, mangled velcro, and overall dirt-and-grime-infestation.

but we also have this

{soooo worth it}

and we DID carve a pumpkin this year {i think we didn't last year - can't remember for some reason} - with minimal help from bennett...who was more interested in putting the seeds back into the pumpkin.

per my sister's request: the finished product {sorry its a little...moldy...its several days old}

and just in case you have ever wondered who would win in the classic "pumpkin vs. cupcake" matchup....your answer lies below
Web
{pumpkin was the unanimously clear victor}

it was a crazy halloween week, and im happily exhausted.
doesnt help that we "fell back" this weekend.

did anybody else's two year old wake up roaring and ready to roll at 6am? and did any of you do all of your normal morning "routine" {breakfast, unload dishwasher, wash and put away dishes, shower, get dressed}, think its ready start the daily errands, look at the clock and see that its 8:07?!? wait until stores actually opened and then run errands and play two year old to near-death in order to push the beloved nap back just enough so your child wouldn't be waking up from said nap at 1pm???

this transition was somehow much easier last year - i guess it's only day two of crazy time-changing...lets hope the new normal becomes the new normal fast!

but there are NO complaints 'round here about finding ourselves in bed at 8:30pm vs. 9:30pm. i rather think that is a good change :)
