dancing with the HELLO

so, for the first time i seem to be watching "Dancing With The Stars" this season. and you know why?

yep. you guessed it.

bc Chuck The Iceman Liddell is on it.
and bc my husband has a thing for ultimate fighting. and has for a long time, since before it was actually called that.

SO we watch DWTS {as i understand it can be called}. and we fast forward a lot. BUT last night, as i was blogging about bennett and his eyes, what do i hear but

"aaaaaaah se hem wa. bot a be ti tah ma..."

otherwise known as the opening words sounds to the Lion King. my jaw drops to the floor as i see the same little painted up lady i saw off broadway in birmingham so many years ago sing the Circle of Life. and i reacted similarly....tears.
to some, this may seem a little exaggerated and silly. well hello my name is Natalie and sometimes i get tired of keeping everything on the "middle ground." sometimes i am silly and exaggerated. and if you are family and/or a close friend, the fact that i cried did not come as a shock at all. i have a thing you might call it for music. and dancing. and broadway. and mainly anything artsy fartsy.

bottom line: it was beautiful! the entire opening number to the play. crazy moving animals and all.
A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
if you have seen The Lion King play, you know exactly what I am talking about. WOW! anyway, im not so sure what to expect the rest of the season but i have to give a great big shout out to Dana White*. for being the president of a group of people who make money kicking each others behinds in many mixed martial ways, and for daring or allowing or whatever it was you did {if anything at all} to get Chuck Liddell to be on this show. so my husband would record it and i would get to see the Lion King's amazing performance one more time!

*its a natural, normal thing that happens: when the husband has a "hobby", the wife tends to pick up on worthless information {such as who the president of the UFC is} relating to said hobby, as if from osmosis. its just a byproduct of the disease "hobby" and in no way reflects upon the sanity of said wife

  2. I am right there with you! I had chill bumps and teary eyes...both last night and when I saw it here in Bham.

I've watched DWTS for several seasons now, and I am sad that you're just now watching...because this seems to be the worst season so far. And yes, I know it's only the first week. Just don't judge it by this season. :)

    Sincerely,
    Queen Artsy Fartsy :)

  4. I was at the Lion King when it came to the ham a few years back. And I cried. And I cried again when Gypsy played at the Red Mtn theatre. And yet again for Wicked this past year. Tears. Big Tears. I think my hubby keeps surprising me with these tickets b/c he thinks it is cute that Musicals touch me so deeply. Do you have XM or Sirius? The Broadways Best channel is nice...
