he ate what?

i think you might be asking that by the end of this post.

no, im not talking about something like a millipede, even though i did find half of one in his mouth last week {dont even get me started on what that did to this mama's psyche...bugs and i do NOT get along}.

im also not talking about tacks, paper clips, grass, dirt, or pennies. {even though all of those have also visited bennetts mouth over the past couple weeks}

i am talking about THIS

Y E A H that

i was reading mckmama's blog recently, and saw this crazy simple "recipe" for a veggie salad thing. all it consists of is pecans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and an apple all gooed up together in a food processor. then you serve it with almond milk (which is water, almonds and dried dates all gooed up together in a BLENDER*). now, i have a pretty tolerable palate. i am a confessed health nut and actually LIKE the taste of all that "stuff." so its not much of a stretch that i would actually try to make something like this.

however, this

did not appetize me. i tasted it, and it wasnt bad, but it definitely wasnt delicious (like mckmama promised).  i decided to try it on my one and only son, and lets just say it was a HIT.

you should have seen him slam down that nutritious disaster of a dish. i have to say it: you must try this for your children. what a wonderful (-ly insane) way to get your child to eat all those veggies, PLUS all the nutrition the nuts contain.  the sweetness of the apple in the cereal and the dried dates in the milk disguise the overall ... gooey vegetableness (?) of it.

worth a shot, right??? go HERE if you decide that you, too, wish to trick your innocent child into consuming more nutrition that they perhaps ever have since the days of breastmilk...

you have bennett's personal mark of approval

*please, whatever you do, do NOT mix the almond milk in a food processor as mckmama describes.  M E S S  will ensue.  just a suggestion from personal trial (and error), use a BLENDER and save us all the water-y explosion...

  6. Hey Natalie!
    I am not sure if Sarah Beth told you but we are moving down to Mobile on Monday. I was asking her about pediatricians and she said that you loved Bennett's so I was thinking of using her. I was wondering if you wouldnt mind sending me her group name /number:) My e-mail address is valeriehardin85@gmail.com.
    Once we get down and settled we will have to get the little ones together!! Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you two soon!
