i have an easy, and {even better} delicious recipe for you to try.
it has long been a family favorite.
i even served this back in '99 when i joined stephen {my then boyishly handsome bfriend}, his dad and youngest brother at the hunting camp for the first time. {and let me just say MY there has been an improvement since those early years...to the hunting camp that is}. i made the broccoli cornbread, not knowing stephen's youngest brother did NOT do green, but wonderfully he decided that he DID like THIS green.
so, get past the crazy title and TRUST me...this stuff is like candy. whatever isnt eaten at the table around our house is always finished off as a cleaning-up-the-kitchen snack :)
1 stick butter (melted)
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 onion - chopped
1 box frozen broccoli cuts, thawed
1 egg
1 box jiffy mix
mix together and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until done
serve with butter if you like, but i prefer mine au naturale
enjoy!
Yum yum!! I think you gave me this recipe at my recipe shower 2 years ago. I haven't tried it yet but will do it soon! Clark and I love cornbread and this sounds delish.
ReplyDeleteI definitely remember this from highschool!
ReplyDeleteit IS like candy. remember while we would clean the kitchen we would have a fork out and just destroy whatever was left of it? or wait...maybe that was carrot cake...
ReplyDeletei made it for ben and i and he didn't eat any (but u blog readers, he's weird, trust me, you WILL like it)... so of course i ended up eating the ENTIRE pan! YUMMO
