whats up with b

i guess its that time - time to post all the "bennett is doing _____" stuff
cause he is changing so much recently and i havent really talked about it.

our little mute has recently exploded with a world of words. or word-like sounds...
mama, daddy or dada (he says both), nana, byebye, uh oh, but NOW also including:

on a regular basis:
angh plungh :: hard-to-write-how-it-sounds-throat-noise for airplane
mih :: milk
ahhh duh or ahhh dih :: all done
ittiditididiti :: itsy bitsy spider
buuh :: book
mmmmmmmuuuuhh :: "moo" (when he sees a cow or in response to "what does the cow say")
tii tah tii tah :: tick tock (when he sees a clock or in response to "what does the clock say")
husssssssss :: a comb and a brush and a bowl full of mush and a quiet old lady who was whispering.....thats right, you got it
sssssss :: what a snake says
ah mah :: amen
dis :: this, as in "dis" book {read it please mom}
stee :: stick
nah nah nah :: no no no! while hitting something.  i dont know where he got the hitting part
wwwooooooooaaaa :: woa

and with some prodding he will say:
schooo :: shoes
doh :: dog
duh :: duck
bah :: ball
djuus :: juice {he just said this today a lot, he doesnt ever have juice but i gave him some and he loved that word}

i might keep coming back and adding when i think of some more.

how did this happen?  overnight really.  like i have mentioned previously, this child has never really babbled, or at least not until most other babies had dadadada and mamama sounds down pat.  i was with a friend of mine on wednesday and her 3 month old little girl was saying sounds i dont think bennett even tried until a month ago.  its crazy how all babies really are different.

i think, though, if bennett could talk like he understands, he would be giving lectures.  he can follow complex commands, with multiple steps, and he has a really good "tell me once and ill get it" kind of memory.  and now he can finally talk back, at least a little.

oh, and he does have a stubborn streak.  my mom says he is so obedient and really listens to "no."  iiiiiiiii dont know if i agree completely.  overall he is very well behaved, and he might be a little angel for mimi and doc, but he sure is testing out his boundaries now.

i used to say "give me your paci please" when he got up from a nap, and he would hand it to me without thinking twice.
now, he might bite onto it and turn his head and whine.  yep, that two year old stubbornness might be making an early arrival.

he used to also always give me anything i asked for, even if it was something he really really wanted, like my keys or phone.
now, he will run circles around the couch or table or toys a few times, then decides i can have what i asked for.  uh huh.

he also has short tantrums when he wants something i wont give him, or wont give him quick enough (usually FOOD).  the good news is, though, that this is easily abated if i just turn his attention to something else.

he snuggles and hugs and kisses like always.  he zooms around the house in his cozy coupe or on his fire truck.  he loves mardi gras beads and could spend two hours taking them on and off.  they are all over our house.  he can open more and more doors, bc he has gotten just that much taller.  he hasnt had his 15 month appointment yet, bc, well, mama hasnt made the appointment.  he has another scratch on his face, and i have no idea where it came from.  he will only let me cut his finger/toenails if i say "one, two, three" on each finger/toe with each clip.  he cracks up at the itsy bitsy spider and can do the finger motion (somewhat) and does "down came the rain" and {his favorite} "wash the spider out."  he runs to the refrigerator and says "mih" when he wants milk.  he runs to the pantry and just hits the door and fusses when he is hungry {lovely}.  he loves the song "the wheels on the bus" and shrieks whenever i say "all through the town" bc he doesnt want me to stop.  he has now watched tv TWICE, about 15-20 minutes each time, and it was BARNEY {help me}.  he loves using a spoon and a fork, but usually ends up using his hands for the last few bits.  he dances whenever music comes on.  he climbs on everything, even something as small as our hearth, but he climbs up and stomps around happily.  he likes to stomp.  and walk backwards. and walk in circles.  he could eat seven bananas a day.  he could play outside seven hours a day.  he takes a really good long {usually 3 hour} afternoon nap.  he loves rocking in chairs, and playing ON the sofa {supervised of course}.  he could turn anything into a phone or a hat.  he does NOT like me working at my desk.  he thinks he should be sitting in my lap.  he tries to be sneaky all the time.  its hilarious.  he climbed onto my back yesterday while i was sitting on the floor and soon realized he loves piggy back rides.

oh, and since his weekend with mimi and doc, i have been informed that he also loves ketchup, french fries, fried popcorn shrimp, soft batch cookies, and waffles with SYRUP.

hmmmmm.
i guess thats what grandparents are for,

i cant wait{?} to hear the stories next week.

and now, the goods:
going to cut the grass with daddy...
