It was a brief trip, but a beach trip nonetheless. I started back to work on Monday - and it hasn't been that bad. I am still working for the same architect firm, just not with a set number of hours. I am back to managing the same jobs I had before, and will prob work anywhere from 10-30 hrs a week, depending on the week. This week I did a bunch of catch up, and made a trip down to one of my houses in Lillian, AL that is under construction. Since Lillian is only 30 minutes or so from Ono Island, and since Stephen was out of town for work, I decided (last minute) to pack up Bennett and Steele and head down to the beach for the night. Bennett did the walk through with me, (the owner and contractor insisted that I brought him with me anyway - I would have NEVER brought him to a commercial site), carried the entire time by the contractor, who loved every minute of it.
After the site visit, Bennett and I drove to the house for a quick late lunch before heading out to visit our friends Amanda and Ruby Acy (Ruby was born 7 weeks after Bennett - Amanda and I worked together at an architect firm at the beach summer of 04). Ruby was too cute and SOOOO tiny compared to Bennett. She was 3 weeks old and was 8 lbs - 5 oz less than Bennett when he was BORN! She was still so scrunchy and precious - it's so hard to believe how fast they grow!(Dont know if you can tell but she has huge beautiful eyes!!)
Bennett and I went back to the house and had dinner. Bennett took a bath in the kitchen sink - which was very interesting bc he has to be moving and kicking his legs at all times, and there just was not enough room in the square sink for this. He got a little frustrated and I was nervous about him continually kicking the side of the sink, so it was a very brief little bath. Bennett went to sleep without a peep (which is a little out of character, but very much welcomed) in the crib that my sisters and I all slept in. Mimi has it set up so nicely and we cannot wait to use it this summer!
Saturday, we woke up and took a stroll down the dock to the boathouse - it was a beautiful day, but an incredibly blustery and freezing day. I had all these visions of Bennett, Steele and I strolling down the big public beach, but after having to cover Bennett up from head to toe with a big blanket to keep the freezing wind off, I decided against this trip... maybe in a couple more months when it warms up a tad!
