Whew what a day - of course 15 minutes into waiting on Dr Rogers the nurse comes out and informs us all that Dr Rogers had to leave and go to a delivery so it may be a sec before she comes back....soooo I didn't get to see her until 5:00 (my appointment was at 3:30!). But how can you fault your OBGYN for having to go deliver a baby??
I haven't gained any weight or had a belly growth spurt since last week, so no changes there. We still have three weeks left of this, though, so I know plenty of last minute pounds will be packed. His heart beat was around 144, and I am still measuring 37cm.
I did find out that I am 70% effaced (trying to hit 100%), but other than that no changes (yet!)! Dr. Helen said that boys, especially BIG baby boys, tend to be a little slower to "drop" - they seem to like the home they have made for themselves over the past 9 months and aren't too pressed to leave. We shall see!
Next Thursday is our Ultrasound, and the next Thursday is our ~last~ appointment! I am seriously counting down the weeks (soon to be DAYS). The thought did hit me today, though, that this January 8th date we have so nicely chosen in our heads might actually not be THE date - not because Bennett may come early, but because he may be LATE! Dr Helen wont induce if I am showing no signs of being ready on my own, so who knows - he may actually push back to his original due date!?!
Another sign that this really is all up to him, and Him, and that we are just bystanders in this game! (pretty active ones though, if I do say so myself) :)

We can't wait to see Bennett! And I know you are so anxious to meet the little man you've been carrying around for 8 months! Ahh, so exciting! Will you be coming to Jackson next week??
ReplyDeleteGreat news on your apt! My Dr. said you efface before you dialate so MAYBE that's a good sign Bennett has a Jan 8th timelime himself! :-) So many unknowns during this season...you seem to be handeling it all like a champ!
