12 week update: from BabyCenter.com:
"Your baby's hit the 2-inch mark (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce. Her face is beginning to look more human. Her eyes, which started out on the sides of her head, have moved closer together on her face, and her ears are near their final positions on the sides of her head. Your baby's intestines, which have grown so rapidly that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into her abdominal cavity about now. Her nerve cells have been multiplying rapidly, and synapses (neurological pathways in the brain) are forming. Your baby may have acquired more reflexes by now, including sucking, and she'll even squirm if you prod your abdomen, though you still won't be able to feel her movement for several weeks."
I have so much to say and my mind is racing that in only two days we get to see our little one again!!! Ive been getting mixed reviews on whether or not we will be able to determine (or at least make an educated guess at) the sex of the baby. Several of my books say that you can see this during the 12 week Ultrasound, but when I talk to people, everyone says "I thought you have to wait until 18-20 weeks to find that out." So I'm not getting my hopes up, but there is a tiny chance we may know! Which would be great, bc Im itching to start decorating the nursery!
Since Stephen is on-call tomorrow, my mid-week day off for the fourth is most likely going to consist of painting the bottom half of the nursery. When we moved to Mobile, we painted one of the guest rooms a mossy green color that I wanted to (one day) be the nursery color, whether this future baby was a boy or a girl. It has a chair rail molding around the room, and currently the bottom half of the wall is just painted white to look like wainscoating. I have decided I dont like it, so tomorrow the task of the day is to paint it to match the top half. (dont worry, I will make sure the room is very well ventillated. Believe me, I read articles all over the internet and in books to make sure this would be OK for me to do!!)
Well its almost 5pm so it's off to Omni Fitness. I joined last week since I am determined to stay in shape during this pregnancy (not just for me, but for the baby as well). I used to be so dedicated to working out, but since moving to Mobile and working out of the house I have seriously slacked. It is nice now to have something motivating me, like a baby! Today I'm meeting with one of the personal trainers so they can show me some good low resistance work-outs to do while pregnant. This should be interesting....
