I keep getting emails/calls with questions from friends/family, so I thought I would answer them for you all on here! Its fun, flattering, and overwhelming that there are so many people interested in this pregnancy. Stephen and I really appreciate all your concerns, thoughts, and prayers!
I have been feeling pretty good for the past many weeks. I have random bits of queasiness and/or nausea almost every day, but no throwing up (thank goodness) or real "sickness." The strongest symptom has been exhaustion, which is hard to cope with. I dont take naps (and still dont) but I definitely feel like I need to lie down MUCH more than I ever did before! And all I do is sit in a chair at my computer all day; I feel for all you other working moms who actually had to be on your feet running around all the time - whew! Its the strangest feeling to always be tired, or feel run down. That's been the hardest part of this, but it's well worth it!
Another question: "Are you showing yet? I want to see belly pictures!"
Well, to the untrained eye I am not showing, but I tend to disagree. My shorts/jeans are getting a little tighter as the weeks pass. I am not "big" or "huge" and am not being silly, but there is definitely a "pooch" developing. Not enough to post any pictures, sorry to those who have asked. It would just look like Im posting a pic of my tummy after I ate one too many doughnuts or something.
Speaking of food and cravings, I haven't really had any to speak of. I have, however, been experiencing food aversions. For example, I love bananas and usually eat several in a week. Well Ive tried twice to eat a banana, and I stop after a couple bites and can't stomach the rest. It's kind of sad. I hope I re-discover a taste for them after pregnancy! Oh and Im also pretty turned off by food that may in any way contain valuable nutrients for me and/or our developing baby. To clarify, I have developed a strong new appreciation for pizza, chips, chocolate, french fries, cookies, sugar, salt, you get the picture. I am trying my darnedest to resist. I may require an intervention if this behavior continues or gets out of hand.
Hope this answers some of the questions that have been floating around out there and I will let you know if anything new develops! Nine days till our next Ultrasound....
PS. Stephen is great. If you ask, he says he is definitely showing, but I dont necessarily agree. He is suffering from slight exhaustion, but that seems to be a normal side effect of his job. He eats whatever you put in front of him, and is overall being a very good and understanding husband.
PPS. Steele is just as excited as we are about this new baby but has made us promise that we will not forget about our first (fur) child. We have assured him that we will not.
This was Steele's response to our Baby news - what a face!
