People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
- Mother Theresa
I just read this on another blog and found it to be quite beautiful. Since my camera is packed and ready to go for our thanksgiving travels I thought I would include this shot from the camp last weekend (that I could easily acces from my phone).
This year I am thankful to be exactly where I am, doing exactly what I'm doing.
I am thankful for God's providence and plan and amazing grace and that I don't always get what I want or deserve.
I'm thankful for the quiet times and the fact that I GET some quiet times these days.
I'm thankful for the loud times when I'm surrounded by screams and shrieks and laughs and somehow instead of screaming myself I manage to be thankful for the loud times when I'm surrounded by screams and shrieks and laughs of my three amazing children. (Result of fervent prayer)
I'm thankful for the most amazing group of girl friends who love me just the way I am and inspire me to be a better mother, wife, Christian, and friend.
I'm thankful for coffee, because after more fervent prayer I apparently really like it now. Well, some may say I like sugary milk with a slight hint if mocha ;) but still, I get it.
I'm thankful for my children and my husband and our families. But that sounds cliche. So...I'm thankful for my precocious and tender hearted Bennett, my headstrong and snuggly Emory, my fat and joyful Jacob, my driven and loving husband, and our outgoing, hilarious, and faithful families.
I'm thankful for the shows Once Upon a Time, New Girl, Parenthood, and any British or period piece film or miniseries.
I'm thankful for steroid shots and antibiotics. Cause now I don't have sinus headaches.
And I'm thankful for my amazingly comfortable bed and my nine or nine thirty bedtime.
Good night and Happy Thanksgiving!
You look so pretty in that last pic. So funny how you described your children, because those descriptions match up to my children exactly. Maybe it's a birth order thing!
